YOGA

"Kundalini Yoga is uncoiling yourself to find your potential and your vitality and to reach for your virtues. There is nothing from outside. Try to understand that. All is in you. You are the storehouse of your totality." - Yogi Bhajan

"Kundalini Yoga, the Yoga of Awareness, was brought to the West by Yogi Bhajan in 1968. Yogi Bhajan taught that, through the practice of Kundalini Yoga and meditation, your glandular and nervous systems are stimulated, and your capacity for creative potential is heightened. You gain inner vitality to compensate for the adverse effects of stress so you can excel in life.

Kundalini yoga classes are a dynamic blend of postures, pranayam, mantra, music and meditation, which teach you the art of relaxation, self-healing and elevation. Balancing body and mind enables you to experience the clarity and beauty of your soul." - Kundalini Research Institute (KRI)

Dharam Deep Singh's Kundalini Yoga & Meditation classes are challenging yet playful, fun, and uplifting. Heavily influenced by both Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa's Golden Bridge Hollywood/Los Angeles and the San Francisco-Bay Area Dr. Yogi's Teacher Training program, Dharam Deep brings elegance and style to each class with poetic wisdom from the ancients. Heart-opening asanas, pranayama-breathwork, sound healing, and mantra feature heavily in each 90 minute session; a combination of physical asanas, meditations, and Kundalini's sacred 'celestial communication' in the form of 'ecstastic dancing' are what you can expect from a class with Dharam Deep. "Music and Dance are life," according to Dharam Deep, "so live your life and be free!"

Dharam Deep Singh teaches regularly at Guru Ram Das ashram in San Francisco (the Bay Area's original home for Kundalini Yoga & Meditation for over 40 years). Dharam Deep Singh is also the co-founder of San Francisco's first-ever teacher-owned cooperative - The Kundalini Yoga Co-Op at the Center SF (a community for personal, spiritual, and social transformation). 'Deep' leads workshops on overcoming personal addictions and healing through the ancient sounds of the symphonic gong and tribal dance music; interweaving the sacred sounds of kirtan with the uplifting tribal rhythms of electronic & world dance music.

Specializing in addictions, PTSD, and child abuse recovery and healing through Kundalini Yoga & Meditation, Dharam Deep Singh has found his higher calling. While not a state-licensed or state-sponsored counselor or therapist, Dharam Deep has personal experience in all three fields and empowers individuals to rise up from trauma and shame to liberate themselves from the past.  Moving into the flow of the NOW, Kundalini Yoga and Meditation is designed to unlock, break-up, and release old-holding-patterns related to past abuse and traumas.

Through mantra, movement, meditation, dance, and the healing sounds of the GONG, the nervous system and endocrine system are re-calibrated to form new emotions and neural pathways to feelings of bliss, empowerment, harmony, acceptance, and motivation. Trust is established by providing participants a safe environment to explore their feelings and new awareness. Everything is optional and students are encouraged to listen to their own voice and bodies in how far to challenge themselves. Proper guidance is informed, and ultimately, it is the student’s choice on how far down the rabbit hole they will go.

Dharam Deep experienced a near death experience (NDE) that turned his body blue and brought his consciousness deep into the white light in 2001. In the warm-white glow, he received message from the other side that told him, “Don’t worry about ANY thing… ever.” This experience renewed his faith in the Universe and inspired him to return to his roots of connecting with the cosmos, the Sun, the Moon, and the Earth; while studying every religion he could find. By 2005, Dharam had explored many wisdom traditions and houses of worship including Christian Assembly in Eagle Rock, California. It was here that he felt the one Great “spirit” upon each visit and had many visionary, mystical experiences; that he would later discover were related to the Crown Chakra being opened - the Tenth Gate - the 'thousand petaled lotus.'

Dr. Wayne Dyer’s Eastern-influenced morning and evening meditations played a big role in opening up the subtle channels of awareness to experience these transcendent states of bliss and awakening. By 2007, a life-threatening illness fell upon Dharam and it was here that Dharam found strength in the wise words of Yogi Bhajan as he faced the depths of death and despair. Through the help and prayers of family and friends, and Yogi Bhajan's healing words of encouragement from beyond the grave, Dharam miraculously and fully recovered with even more vitality and vigor than before.

Upon realizing that Yogi Bhajan was an ascended master sent from the grave by God to awaken Dharam from his slumber, he sought out all the information he could on Kundalini Yoga & Meditation. Dharam’s first Kundalini Yoga class was a Third Eye Meditation workshop with Guru Dev Singh at Golden Bridge Yoga in Hollywood, CA. It was energizing and trippy at the same time. The group chanting was powerful and a deep respect for the tradition grew within Dharam.

After experiencing another visionary and mystical experience - a deep connection and strong opening of the Third Eye - similar to Doreen Virtue's account written about in "The Lightworker's Way," Golden Bridge Yoga became a second home to Dharam throughout the years. Dharam would often take classes back to back on the unlimited monthly pass.

After taking many classes with amazing teachers like Gurmukh, Harijiwan, Yogi Brent, Suze Q, Gaytri Fino, and many others, Dharam decided to move to San Francisco (the Third Eye of the world) and take Kundalini Yoga teacher training in the East Bay based on the recommendation of Bay Area yogi Sat Daya Singh Khalsa. Dharam Deep has been teaching Kundalini Yoga & Meditation ever since. Many have noticed the pure joy, blessings, and gratitude Dharam feels from teaching and sharing with others. This is his true higher purpose, calling, and life's work.

A Kundalini Yoga & Meditation practice brings new health and vitality into your physical body, mind, and spirit, unlike any other practice. A weekly and/or daily Kundalini Yoga practice can bring a physical, mental, and spiritual transformation like no other. Kundalini Yoga is safe and appropriate for everyone. Try a class or workshop with Dharam Deep and see for yourself.
